Volkswagen Model Sales halted

Volkswagen model sales had currently been halted in Switzerland.

It is said the move could affect over 180,000 cars not yet sold or registered in the Euro 5 category.
This comes after Volkswagen admitted to cheating on emission tests in the US.


Mattew Mueller has now been named the new chief executive of VW after taking over from Martin Winterkorn who resigned on Wednesday

After his appointment,Mueller said restoring the company's reputation was his main priority.

The ban does not affect cars that are already in circulation or cars with Euro6 emission category engines.

It emerged that some VW cars sold in the US had devices in diesel engines that could detect they were being tested, changing the engine performance to improve results.

Transport authorities in other countries have announced their own investigations including Germany and the United Kingdom.
